Dancer

Kyla Gallant-Sova is a dancer and dietitian based in Calgary, AB. With over 25 years of dance experience, she understands the unique nutritional needs and challenges of the dancer. She is passionate about providing evidence-based nutritional information to dancers, with an emphasis on a non-diet, body positive approach. Kyla truly believes that dance is for every Body.

Specializing in ballet, lyrical and contemporary, Kyla has been a dance professional for over 10 years. Under the tutelage of teachers including Shirley Agate-Proust, Candice Moseley and Teri Willoughby, Kyla received top awards as a student competitor in diverse styles within both Canada and the US. As a professional, Kyla is currently performing with Trip the Light Dance & Performance Company. 

Teaching dance has always been a passion for Kyla. She loves sharing the joy of dance with bodies of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities. Holding her Fellowship in ballet, Associate in modern, and Level One in Acrobatic Arts, Kyla is constantly pursuing further education. Currently, she is working on the Enrico Cecchetti Diploma syllabus under the guidance of world renowned Nancy Kilgour. Kyla's choreography has received numerous accolades and she is proud to have had students continue on to pursue professional careers in dancing, singing, modelling and acting. Kyla has had the privilege to sit on adjudication panels for competitions, festivals and auditions and is a sought after teacher for studios across Canada.

Giving back to the dance community is important to Kyla. She is currently a member with both Healthy Dancer Canada and the Wild Rose Dance Arts Association and is a proud supporter of the Calgary arts community.
